Brenda Kembabazi is the passionate and dedicated team lead for 1000hugs Foundation. With a fervent commitment to empowering the girl child and combating menstrual stigma among adolescents, Brenda has been a driving force behind all the foundation’s initiatives.
Brenda has always been a strong advocate for women’s rights and health, having witnessed firsthand the struggles that many young girls face in Uganda. Her personal experiences have equipped her with the skills and insight needed to lead meaningful change.
Her work is driven by the belief that empowering girls at a young age is crucial for their development and future success. Brenda envisions a society where discussing puberty and menstruation is normalized and where girls are given the tools they need to thrive.
Do not wait for a girl to become a woman to empower them. Empower a girl’s life by giving them sanitary pads. With pads, we give them wings.
To create a culture where it’s cool to talk about growing up and the changes that are part of that, periods included.
Brenda’s vision is to normalize conversations about puberty and menstruation, ensuring that girls feel confident and supported as they navigate these changes. Her leadership and dedication have inspired many, and under her guidance, the 1000hugs Foundation continues to make significant strides in improving the lives of young women and girls in Uganda.
